The Luxoro Museum
The museum holds an important collection of clocks and timepieces, ceramics, silverware, mirrors, carved frames and historic textiles. The furniture in the villa is one of its most significant areas, together with an exceptional collection of nativity figures, including eighteenth-century Genoese wooden statuettes and rare painted-cardboard figures from Lombardy.
The picture gallery reflects the Luxoro family’s preference for eighteenth-century art and secular subjects. Genre scenes and landscapes predominate, with important works by Alessandro Magnasco, Antonio Francesco Peruzzini and Carlo Antonio Tavella, alongside numerous Genoese portraits and a rich series of seascapes from northern Europe.
